About me
My name is Amy Monteith. I grew up in the middle of Oklahoma, but now find myself in the middle of Maryland, in between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. I spend my time being an artist/illustrator/crafty person.
Being able to create and work with my hands is what makes me happy. I've been drawing, painting, or doing some sort of crafty goodness since I was a small creature. I've had a few art classes here and there but most of what I wanted to know I taught myself. I've dabbled in numerous mediums and materials over the years. Mostly I draw or paint with some combination of colored pencil, ink, watercolor, or digital and these days I find myself doing a lot of sewing.
Besides my creative endeavors, I enjoy cheesy sci-fi, cartoons and comics, tromping around outdoors, and going places. I also avidly pursue the making and eating of tasty foods, and I have the magpie-like enjoyment of collecting shiny and/or colorful small objects.
